If Only

she carries them 

everywhere she goes

filling the world

with rainbow spheres

carried on the bounce 

of giggling breath

she offers him a gentler

view of the world

he stands in the midst of them

on a beach

at sunset

love and kindness and beauty and joy

they leave soapy kisses

on his neck, nose, chin 

with each 

pop

his favorite place

his favorite time of day

his favorite things

his favorite girl

if only it had been enough
