Sevenling
you declared we would find you
in the sunsets, cherry blossoms,
by carefully listening to ocean’s heartbeat

instead, we mourn you
frozen in time, eternally 27,
beyond beck and call, hug or laughter
never trust a voice from the grave
A sevenling is a seven line poem that is made up of three stanzas. The first two stanzas are three lines each. Both three line stanzas should contain three connected or contrasting statements or a list of three images or details. The last stanza should only be one line long and offer a twist or revelation.
I am enrolled in an online poetry class and love the challenge of new ways to say sad things about Adam! It is excellent therapy.
