A Place for Grey

When

your heart is breaking

When

you don’t know

which way to go,

despite

all the love you have.

When

your heart fills with

rage at all the rules,

all the

do’s and don’ts,

made up

by someone, somewhere.

When

you can only weep,

trapped by

the black and white

of this angry

mixed-up world.

When

you know there has to be a better way

Then

you stand boldly,

declare the wrongness of

a world devoid of the in-between.

Your soul fights back,

creating a picture of

what could be:

peace

partnership

forgiveness

compromise

new love

Then,

though you don’t know it,

your courage

creates swirls

of soft grey

inviting another

to travel their own path

with

confidence

joy

and much needed grace
