Cussing the Cat

A Cat Poem

cussing the cat

first thing in the morning

so many egregious actions

stop scratching the screen

get off the counter

you licked my breakfast!

can’t you just lie there,

fluffy and cute,

match the decor,

sleepy symbol of domestic tranquility?

I have misjudged you entirely.

out, out, out,

out you go

climb a tree

chase a lizard

sharpen those claws

chatter your teeth at a bird on the wire

you wild animal you

To Ms. Bisbee, a lovely domestic pet --- most of the time.
